ECO4 Funding was established with the purpose of assisting households with the lowest incomes in enhancing their energy efficiency. By doing so, you can effectively reduce your energy bills.
WHAT IS ECO4 FUNDING?
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a governmental initiative in the United Kingdom with the purpose of addressing two key issues: reducing carbon emissions and alleviating fuel poverty within the nation. The Home Cost Reduction Obligation is a program designed to enhance the capacity of households to ensure proper heating in their homes. It encompasses various measures aimed at achieving heating savings, such as replacing or repairing boilers, installing cavity wall insulation, and implementing loft insulation.
As part of the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme instituted by the government, we have successfully implemented numerous energy-saving initiatives throughout the United Kingdom for eligible customers. It is worth mentioning that you may encounter the term “boiler grant” when referring to this particular program.
QUALIFYING BENEFITS FOR THE ECO4 SCHEME
To Qualify you must be a home owner and in receipt of one of the following benefits to apply:
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- Income Support
- Working Tax Credits
- Child Tax Credits
- Pension Credit Guarantee Credit (PCGC)
- Universal Credit
- Housing Benefit
- Pension Credit Savings Credit (PCSC)
- Child Benefit *
*If you claim Child Benefit we will need to ask some additional questions to check if you qualify.
The type of property you reside in is an important factor when determining the funding allocation for the grant. Older and less energy-efficient properties are more likely to receive a higher amount of funding. On the other hand, if you have a highly efficient property, you may be required to make a small contribution towards the installation cost. Finally, you must be on a mains gas, oil or LPG supply. Free Boiler grants are now available to those in off gas areas
